Grain Producers' Australia's increasing dissatisfaction in chemical permit approval timelines by regulator Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) is attracting international attention.

Philenews, the largest newspaper for the Mediterranean country of Cyprus, provided an update to its readers noting the delays could cause preventable crop losses for Australia as one of the world's largest agricultural exporters.

GPA southern region grower director Andrew Weidemann said delays in approving Victrato to prevent crown rot in wheat and barley was of particular concern as growers had expected this option for the coming season.
