GPA WELCOMES NEW INDEPENDENT BOARD DIRECTOR

Grain Producers Australia (GPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Cindy Cassidy to its Board of Directors. 

 

Ms Cassidy’s extensive experience from across the Australian agricultural and grains sectors and her governance background will be instrumental in advancing GPA’s commitment to supporting and representing the interests of grain producers nationwide. 

 

GPA Chair Barry Large said Cindy was well known for her dedication to agriculture and improving outcomes for growers.

“Cindy’s strategic insights and strong connections across the grains sector make her an invaluable addition.  

 

“Her track record in sustainable development and her focus on industry innovation aligns perfectly with GPA’s goals to support and advocate for our members." 




 

With a distinguished career spanning more than 30 years, Ms Cassidy has held leadership roles across industry organisations, research entities, and public sector bodies.  

 

Her focus has been on translating research into practical on-farm benefits, promoting innovation, and ensuring sustainable outcomes for regional communities. 

 

Ms Cassidy, who is currently Director of the Southern NSW Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub has also held positions such as Chief Executive of FarmLink Research, and senior positions at Wheat Quality Australia and at the Australian Wheat Board (AWB).  

 

She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and currently serves as the Audit Committee Chair and a Non-Executive Director for AgriFutures Australia. 

   

Ms Cassidy said she is dedicated to advancing Australia’s agricultural sector and looks forward to creating real impact for grain producers.  

 

"It’s critical that we translate research investments into meaningful outcomes that drive sustainability on the ground," she said.  

 

"This industry has made significant strides, and I’m excited to contribute to GPA’s mission by supporting innovative practices that will benefit grain producers and regional communities alike." 

  

Ms Cassidy said building collaborations and bringing together industry, government, and research organisations is key to facing our current challenges and seizing new opportunities in agriculture.  

 

“I look forward to leveraging my experience to foster initiatives that empower Australian grain producers to thrive,” she said. 

  

Ms Cassidy’s appointment reinforces GPA’s dedication to fostering a sustainable, resilient, and competitive grain industry that meets the needs of producers and contributes to Australia’s agricultural future.
