TRADE FARM MACHINERY | Agriculture industry reacts to federal election result

Agricultural groups are ready to get down to business following an election result that confirmed the return of a Labor Government.

Trade Farm Machinery reported that there were a number of promises from Labor that would be relevant to the industry, including $3.5 million towards the National Food Security Strategy over two years and $24 million for sponsoring agricultural trade events over the next three years.

Grain Producers Australia CEO Colin Bettles wrote to Collins with the GPA’s election priorities, and in her reply Collins says the government is “committed to a robust, sustainable agriculture industry, including the grains sector, that continues to prosper and grow in Australia”.
