GPA Chief Executive, Colin Bettles, spoke to Rural Focus host, Troy Stockden, about GPA's support for other peak farm industry representative groups, by co-signing a letter to the Prime Minister.
The letter raised shared concerns about the phase-out of live sheep exports, urging the Federal Government to reconsider its policy decision.
GPA has also urged the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Agriculture Minister, Murray Watt, and Trade Minister, Don Farrell, to urgently visit and engage with producers and communities impacted by this ban, in person.
The letter signed by GPA Chair and WA producer Barry Large, who also runs sheep on his mixed farming property in Western Australia, is consistent with the clear views expressed in GPA’s submission to the public consultation process.
