Hogg brings mental health message to Pinnaroo

Grain Producers Australia was proud to support the first event for the Farmer Mates Mental Health Initiative 2025 calendar, in Pinnaroo, South Australia, a region currently feeling the strain of ongoing dry seasonal conditions.

The community event was hosted by The Pinnaroo Project at the Pinnaroo Wetlands, bringing locals together for live music, food vans and relaxed conversations focused on connection and care. It created a positive and welcoming space to talk openly about mental health.

GPA’s National Ambassador Brad Hogg joined the community to share his personal story and encourage honest conversations about mental wellbeing.

Having grown up in the WA Wheatbelt and faced his own mental health challenges, Brad spoke about the importance of mateship, checking in, and looking after yourself and those around you.

The Pinnaroo Project’s community-driven approach, supported by the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal through the ‘In a Good Place’ program, was exactly what the Farmer Mates Mental Health Initiative was developed to support.

GPA thanks The Pinnaroo Project for their leadership and hospitality, and Brad for continuing to help break down stigma and lead by example.
