GRAIN CENTRAL | Investigations under way into potential paraquat class action

Investigations into a class action regarding paraquat and alleged links to Parkinson's disease have been confirmed by an Australian law firm.

Shine Lawyers is seeking contact from people who report being exposed to paraquat and have since been diagnosed with Parkinsons, or had symptoms, they're also accepting people representing a deceased person who meets the criteria.

Grain Central reported on the issue and spoke to Grain Producers Australia Research, Development and Extension Spokesperson Andrew Weidemann, who said the organisation would keep a close eye on developments.

He also highlighted that there was "“no established causal link between paraquat and Parkinson’s disease” which was confirmed by three OECD-nation regulators in the past four years.
