GRAIN CENTRAL | AEGIC functions to roll into Grains Australia

An announcement by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) that will consolidate the Australian Export Grains Innovation Centre (AEGIC) functions within Grains Australia has been welcomed by industry.

The GRDC announcement follows the Western Australian Government indicating it would cease its funding of AEGIC in June 2026.

Grain Central reported that the decision would increase value to the grains industry, as outlined by the GRDC.

It also highlighted the support of grower representative group Grain Producers Australia, with GPA Chair Barry Large indicating the decision was a positive outcome, while also recognising the important work of AEGIC since its inception in 2012.
