A mega-merger between global grain heavyweights Bunge and Glencore-backed Viterra is set to change the face of Australia’s most valuable farming industry.
The $US18 billion ($26.6 billion) merger would have the combined group vie for the mantle of Australia’s biggest exporter of grain with CBH, a farming co-operative that operates four port terminals in Western Australia.
Grain Producers Australia chief executive Colin Bettles said the mega-merger was the most consequential for wheat growers in decades.
