Grain Producers Australia's Farmer Mates Mental Health Initiative is returning in 2025, with both a national program of events and a new podcast series that brings mental health awareness to farmers on their properties.
Farmer Mates Mental Health Initiative National Ambassador and Aussie cricketing legend Brad Hogg spoke to ABC SA Country Hour presenter Cassie Hough about the launch of the program.
He said for growers dealing with tough conditions in many parts of the country, the focus on things they could control was important, as weather was something out of everyone's control.

"I think the one important thing that's with us going out there is to make sure that we can help farmers keep their heads high and just find those options that they've got moving forward to be able to keep sustainable and make sure that if things don't go that well this year, there's still options for the following year to make that come back," Mr Hogg said.
"Everything in the world, everything in life, there's always going to be challenges that you don't know that are around the corner that are going to come, and they are unexpected.
"I think that's probably the most important message we need to put out there is keep those communities strong, but do what Australians are always good at, and that's been there for you mate and through those tough times."
