ABC ONLINE | Authorities urge parents to check Little Ones Nappy Pants for khapra beetle larvae

As work continues to track down cartons of nappy pants following a detection of khapra beetle larvae on September 7, industry leaders have called for calm.

While khapra beetle is considered one of the biggest threats to Australia's grain industry, Grain Producers Australia Chief Executive Colin Bettles told ABC Online it was important not to dramatise the situation.

"Now is not the time to be catastrophising; we want to be guided by facts, we want people to be aware and not alarmed," he said.

"We want to make it very clear that this is a detection associated with imported goods.

"Australia is currently free from khapra beetle and GPA will continue working as hard as we can and fighting as hard as we can to ensure that doesn't change."
