QUESTIONS WELCOME FOR GPA ELECTION WEBINAR: HOW TO NAVIGATE MINORITY GOVERNMENT

Grain Producers Australia (GPA) is calling for questions to be submitted in advance of a webinar featuring former rural Independent MP, Tony Windsor, looking at how agricultural representatives can navigate a minority government.  

Australian grain producers, industry stakeholders and interested parties are welcome to attend the GPA webinar – to be held on Wednesday 23 April 7pm AEST featuring the one-time New England MP – and can submit their questions in advance, to GPA directly HERE 

This online event will also be hosted by award winning journalist, and former federal parliamentary press gallery member and National Press Club Board Director, Tim Shaw. 

This webinar aims to share important information and knowledge – especially about Mr Windsor’s unique experiences on the front line of a minority government from 2010-2013 – ahead of the Federal Election polling day, on Saturday 3 May 2025. 

Mr Windsor is well known for his pivotal role in the Hung Parliament from 2010-2013, but his experiences extend far beyond that unique chapter in Australian political history. He’s also a grain producer working the land and helping run the family farm, in Northern NSW. 

Mr Windsor’s insights, to be revealed at the webinar, will also reflect recent polling results, which indicate another minority government is clearly on the cards, along with a high percentage of undecided voters. 

GPA has also released its 2025 Federal Election Policy Priorities, aiming to boost the productivity and performance of Australian grain producers. HERE 

Backing GPA’s 2025 Policy Priorities also strengthens the delivery of multiple shared benefits for the Australian grains industry, the national economy, environment, and rural communities.

As Mr Windsor stated, at his retirement press conference in 2013, ‘The World is run by those that turn up’.
