Grain Producers Australia is focused on strengthening collaboration across grain industry representation and delivering a united voice on the issues that matter to growers.
Grain Central spoke with newly elected GPA Chair and Moree grower Matthew Madden about working more closely with GrainGrowers,
GPA’s ongoing national advocacy and the organisation’s unique responsibilities in areas including biosecurity, chemical access and emergency response.
“GPA wants what every grower wants, a united voice, and we want to put the industry ahead of the organisations that represent growers,” Mr Madden said.
“The phosphine update, paraquat, mouse baits… these policy wins are directly attributed to GPA and their state members and have greatly benefited all growers.”
Mr Madden also highlighted GPA’s role as the grains industry signatory to the Emergency Plant Pest Response Deed.
“This is the unsung hero of what we do because we’re giving the grains industry a voice when there is a biosecurity incident.”
