The APVMA has handed down its long-awaited final decision on paraquat and diquat, confirming both herbicides will remain available for use in Australian farming systems under revised label requirements and use conditions.

Grain Central reported on the decision and Grain Producers Australia's response to the outcome.

Grain Producers Australia Research, Development and Extension Spokesperson Andrew Weidemann welcomed the decision, saying it provided important certainty for grain growers while recognising the need to comply with the revised conditions.

"The outcome provides growers with certainty and recognises the critical role these products continue to play in Australian farming systems when used according to the label," he said.
