Uncertainty around fertiliser availability and pricing remains a key concern for grain growers, with a clearer picture expected to emerge by the end of March as global market conditions continue to shift.
The situation is being closely watched following volatility linked to international supply chains and geopolitical tensions, which have already put pressure on input costs heading into the growing season.
Grain Producers Australia spokesperson Andrew Weidemann told Grain Central that growers are taking a cautious approach while waiting for more clarity.
“We’ll have a much better understanding of where things sit by the end of March,” he said.
Mr Weidemann said while there is uncertainty, it is too early to determine the full impact on supply and pricing, with markets still responding to global developments.
The outlook for fertiliser will be critical for growers making decisions ahead of seeding, with input affordability and availability continuing to shape on-farm planning.
