Grain Producers Australia (GPA) is pleased to welcome Nutrien Ag Solutions' announcement of a $70 million investment in a Western Australian facility.
The new, state-of-the-art fertiliser distribution centre in Rockingham, Western Australia is a significant development following a fire impacting the company’s Kwinana Jetty facility in February 2024.
GPA Chair Barry Large said Nutrien’s investment will strengthen supply chain resilience for WA farmers and ensure the availability of essential crop inputs.
He expressed strong support for the project, emphasising the vital role that secure and efficient fertiliser supplies play in Australia’s agricultural productivity.
"Nutrien’s investment is a powerful vote of confidence in WA’s agricultural future,” he said.
“The new Rockingham facility will be instrumental in providing our growers with reliable access to the resources needed to maintain productive, sustainable farming operations.
“The facility’s increased storage and modern loading systems will provide much-needed support for WA’s $11 billion agricultural sector, particularly as growers navigate ongoing global supply chain challenges.”
Grain Producers Australia congratulates Nutrien on this strategic investment and looks forward to the benefits it will bring to grain producers and the broader agricultural community.
