FARM ONLINE | Grain grower groups urge farmers to register clumping fertiliser issues

Issues with fertiliser quality has growers across the country reporting problems with use and loading.

Farmers are having problems with stick, oily mono-ammonium phosphate (MAP) fertiliser product that clumps and presents issues with outloading.

Farm Online reported that farmers have resorted to pushing over silos to access the product that won't unload properly.

Grain Producers Australia Chief Executive Colin Bettles said the organisation had received numerous reports during sowing periods.

"We're hearing a lot about it, and we'd urge all growers with issues to come forward, not just to those selling them the product but to us or their relevant state farmer organisation so it is documented and we have a clearer picture of where the issues are occurring," Mr Bettles said.
