Grain Producers Australia Chair Barry Large recently represented Australian grain producers at the Agricultural Traceability Roundtable in Amsterdam and Brussels.
The event brought together Australian and European industry and government representatives to explore how robust, verifiable traceability systems can strengthen agricultural trade and meet European Union import requirements in areas such as food safety, sustainability, and product origin.
Strengthening traceability is a key GPA policy priority, supporting biosecurity protections, maintaining and expanding market access, and ensuring supply chain integrity.
These systems give trading partners confidence in Australia’s grain products while helping growers meet evolving regulatory and customer expectations.
GPAs contribution ensured the voice of Australian grain producers was part of these important international discussions, focused on delivering practical benefits for exporters and value back to the farm gate.
