Peter Bridgman is a Brisbane based barrister and former psychologist. He has extensive experience in governance, ethics and integrity, and public policy. He wrote a major review of public employment law, A Fair and Responsive Public Service for All and co-wrote the leading text The Australian Policy Handbook, currently in its 6th edition. Major legislative reviews he had led cover: biosecurity; sugar, stock, dairy and fisheries industries; environmental protection; industrial relations; transport regulation.

Previous government roles include an extended period as Corporate Counsel for the Queensland Department of Primary Industries; Cabinet Secretary; head of Arts Queensland; and Deputy Director-General of Education. He offers programs for better government decision-making through Policy Skills and provides policy development consulting.

He has extensive experience at board level across diverse areas, and is a member of administrative tribunals. Peter’s legal practice has included employment and industrial issues; environmental matters; corporate governance; mental health; and administrative law.
