The Forums will be chaired by a regional GPA Director, who will introduce GPA's structure, culture and operation as well as launching GPA's new Grain Policy Framework, which will engage industry stakeholders and develop robust policies to serve the industry.
The Forums will give grain producers access to Wheat Quality Australia Ltd – the recently established company responsible for wheat variety classification. Producers can take the opportunity to better understand WQA operations and how they can contribute to the ongoing development of the processes and strategies of wheat varietal classification.
PHA will also brief industry on the organisation, the Emergency Plant Pest Response Deed and the roles of both GPA and PHA in preparing against and managing incursions of pests and diseases in Australia's grains industry.
The Forums will also showcase the PHA Grains Farm Biosecurity Program and participants will have the opportunity to raise and discuss issues with regional Grains Biosecurity Officers.
The Forums are a key opportunity for all stakeholders to raise issues that will feed into the national agenda for the grain industry and GPA generally. The outcomes will contribute towards the ongoing consultation with industry on dealing with issues of national significance.
